A lot of you are looking for ways to share your work, get your name out, reach possible clients, you name it… We’re here to help! Submit your portfolio for a chance to get featured here. Today it’s time to show you a selection of the works of Surrealpete.
Surrealpete: Artist working with digital images and photo manipulation to create unique new works that are produced on metal, glass and canvas. Fulltime artist for the past year, so still bottom rung of the ladder but making great progress with a growing webfootprint, a real stand in a local art shop and a RAW show in feb 2016.
I believe my art has achieve a unique personal style & overall there is a distinct Surreal and Fantasy/SciFi feel to much of my work. I portray magic realism at times and surrealist / conceptual at others. I rarely know what I aim to create as the work tends to form itself as the collage takes shape.
In 2014 I made creating & selling my art a full-time job. In part a leap of faith, but such a step must be taken or nothing changes.
My art consists of works constructed using digital collage of multiple existing stock images, my own resources & pictures, partial/altered thumbnails
The original pix (can be over 20 in most cases) are morphed and blended and layered (100’s of layers) to create something new, a digital composite or collage bearing minimal or no resemblance to the individual parts used.
My work is printed on glass or metal by choice but canvas is an option as well.
