This was a direct mail (promotional) campaign in 2011 for the yearly Coast to Coast Marathon targeted at champion athletes who regularly participate from around the globe. This campaign was executed with co-designers: Dawn Everitt, Cj Contreras and Jeremy Kyle. The concept that drove this project centered around the “Mayan 2012 End of the World scenario”. Nature would turn inside out making terrain extreme, and the pressure to win the “race” amongst the other “competitors” around the world that much more challenging and daring. The direct mail material was created to look like a smokey black shoe box, with sneaker tread die cut revealing the hot orange yellow beneath. On the inside is a bright orange yellow and black globe sitting on top of another shoe diecut with the quote “GET READY TO RUN 2012 IS COMING”…
