i paint surreal landscapes which reflect my state of mind – able to find a deep sense of calm through contemplating the deep interconnections throughout nature, and also often feeling a powerful melancholia. the movement of stars across the sky creates perfect curves; the sphere is the perfect form of nature; hence my interest in these geometric shapes. esotericism and eastern mysticism inform my practice very deeply, as does music – each painting has an album or artist associated with it, which harmonises with my emotional state at the time, from radiohead to sun ra.
