In ‘The Portfolio of…’ I give you, the photographer/ designer, a chance to share your work with the world. Everyone likes to get some attention for their works, and we’re here to help. Submit your portfolio to us and I’ll try to publish it. Today it’s time to show you the work of Kimbo Gruff.
About Kimbo Gruff: British/Persian artist born in Paris (1989) raised in Ipswich, England and currently based in Amsterdam. I mainly focus on using found objects/pictures, photography, drawing and painting to create both poetic and visually engaging pieces.
I have a history of street art which also heavily influences some of my work. Using techniques such as drawing and painting in a new way is also a passion of mine; I like to draw from influences such as abstract painting, graphic design and street art and combine the elements which speak to me the most.
I’m also very interested in the idea of re-appropriation and using techniques such as taking close up photos of tv shows or adverts and re moulding them in to my own vision.
I aim to make moody or lonely yet gentle feelings in my work which can be enjoyed for their essence as well as their deeper value.
