In ‘The Portfolio of…’ I feature one designer a day and give all of you a chance to share your work with the world. A lot of you are looking for ways to share your work, get your name out, reach possible clients, you name it… We’re here to help! Submit your portfolio for a chance to get featured here. Today it’s time to show you a selection of the works of Falco Verholen.
Falco Verholen: In 2013 I graduated as a video designer at the Utrecht School of the Arts, the Netherlands. Since then I’ve been active as a freelancer focusing on video, illustration, sequential storytelling and writing. My education and lifelong passion for drawing and creating graphic novels have honed my skills and insights as a storyteller and visual director. I usually work in graphites and color my drawings digitally. Recently, however, I can’t resist the urge to pick up painting with acrylics and gouache again.
Recurring themes in my personal work are transformations, fierce instincts, conflict, gender, nature / animals and tenderness. I have a fondness for creating work that is contradictory, intense and otherworldly, evoking the sense of witnessing part of a story.
