Today it’s time to show you a selection of the works of Akvile Lesauskaite.
Akvile Lesauskaite: I graduated with a degree in visual arts and I am based in Vilnius, Lithuania, where I work as a fashion and beauty manager in Polhem PR. I am also the editor-in-chief at SwO.lt and SwO Street, new generation magazine about culture, lifestyle and fashion.
Image construction, sociological approach to fashion and style objects are the main motifs dominating in my work. These fragments have clearly begun to take shape in the very first paintings while studying in Vilnius Academy of Arts and later were constantly stimulated by practical situations – creative collaborations with stylists, photographers, and my job as an editor. Erasmus semester spent in the Academy of Brera in Milan led to acquaintance with fashion week’s cuisine, local industry, and eventually started dictating appropriate means of expression, – I replaced the traditional oil painting on canvas with sheer, transparent watercolour and lipstick.
