Today we’re having a look at the works of Jay Jang, a New York based designer/animator, raised in Korea, who has always had interests in storytelling animations and used to get inspiration from movies and book before starting to work.

Jay: I designed the educational 2D character animation to describe the story of Trojan War in Greek Mythology. Inspired by the movie ‘Troy’, I tried to make an animation to make is easier to understand the story in short, and I mixed the old greek artistic style that could be seen in their old vases. I basically designed the shape of each characters from sketches and bring them into Illustrator, and put them in After Effects to animate.
