We start this week with a look at a couple of works from Irina and Silviu Szekely. A couple of self-taught Romanian born photographers and analogue collage artists currently based in the United Kingdom.
Irina and Silviu: We’ve met while studying Philosophy at the University in Transylvania and we have been together ever since. Our collages are part of a series of juxtapositions and nomadic stories that explore the idea of migration, displacement, re-location as dis-location. Our photographs are collated under [ être-au-monde-voir-à-l’imparfait ] project. Our collage works are made by hand with scissors and glue using found images and old book covers, cardboard and/or plywood.
