Ever wanted to edit a photo, but didn’t have the ability to do so because you did not have the right software? With Fotor this is all history. Not only from your pc, but also via your mobile. Easy for when you made a photo while traveling for exmaple and want to do some editing before you upload it to the web. Once you’ve uploaded your photo you will be presented with a nice editor with tons of options.
Want to create some photo effects like instagram? Sure, you can do that too, maybe even better. In the screenshot below you will see a selection of the filters, but I can assure you, there is much more than that. It’s almost as if I have the photoshop tools, right in my browser. You can also easily compare the filters with the original photo, which can see in the other screenshot below. A very important feature if you ask me, because applying to much effects can make the photo worse instead of better than the original. For the posts here on DI I create cover photos. They need to be cropped to special dimensions (and sometimes edited a bit as well). Before I knew Fotor I used photoshop to create them. Now I’ve installed the Chrome extension, one click and I am ready to go.
Nowadays you have to come up with new ideas to get something unique into your project. One of those unique options in Fotor is the option to create a photo collage. With a selection of pre defined templates you can simply drag and drop your photos onto the canvas and start create your own collage. In the screenshot below you will see the most basic template there is, but you can use shapes and masks as well. But it is not only the collage what caught my attention, it is also the huge library with templates what makes this tool so much better. For almost every occasion in which you could send a card for example, there are at least 15 templates: Father’s day, Mother’s day, Birthday, etc… You name it and they have it.
All with all, a really good photo editor. The only thing that would make it even more interesting for me, would be the remake of this in HTML5 instead of Flash. But that’s because of my profession, and not because of the app! As always, if you have any experience with this app, please share it in the comments!
