ELLE Brazil celebrates art

2017 was a tough year for Brazil, full of crisis, political failures and a limited amount of artistic output. The ELLE Magazine December/17 issue was about beauty…beauty which feeds our imagination and breaks old standards. Famous Brazilian personalities recreated 5 iconic paintings in a stunning photo session directed by Luciano Schmitz to illustrate how art can be humanized.

Visual curiosity, playfulness, and creativity remain just as important during a time that is defined by crises. Looking at the world openly may not be a political act, but holding on to the ability to do so is essential.
