The wayfinding project for Al Sole Hotel, is a project created by Davide Mottes and Jacopo Marcolini. The concept was developed during the construction of the building because of the need for an identification system for different illumination types, locations and the interaction flow between people and spaces. The project’s basis was a coordinate pictograms system that allows people to identify every single place, from bedrooms to the wine cellar, from the smoking area to the spa facilities. The system consists in two types of boards: the squared ones identify the single spaces, the rectangular ones indicate the ways inside the buildings. Both are made of painted milled metal.
